Abstract

This study explores the importance of integrating local wisdom and ethnic touches in pluralism education in Indonesia, focusing on the application of moderation as a core value. Through an in-depth literature review, this study identifies and analyzes various sources that discuss pluralism education, local wisdom, and moderation within the diverse cultural and ethnic contexts of Indonesia. The review shows that local wisdom, which reflects the identity and cultural values of the community, has great potential to support pluralism education. An ethnic touch in the educational curriculum can enrich students' understanding of diversity while instilling moderate attitudes crucial in maintaining social harmony amidst differences. The study also finds that educational approaches rooted in local culture can help prevent radicalism and extremism by teaching students to appreciate and embrace differences. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need for curriculum development that comprehensively integrates the values of pluralism, local wisdom, and moderation to shape young generations with a deep understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusivity in a multicultural society like Indonesia
